Emily Blunt's parenting approach to her second child, 3-month-old Violet, is more peaceful compared to her first child. The actress also revealed that her eldest daughter, 2 ½-year-old Hazel, is very loving when it comes to her younger sister.
Blunt, 33, said in an interview on "Extra" that little Violet is "doing really well," People reported. "The Girl on the Train" star added, "I wonder if it's the second kid - you're so relaxed, and then they're relaxed. Your energy is not like, 'Oh my God, am I gonna kill this child by something that I'm doing?'"
Blunt also shared that Hazel has taken her elder sister status "well" and "brilliantly." The actress recalled that Hazel used to be "indifferent" to the baby but eventually warmed up and is now very loving and "very kind" to Violet.
Blunt was four months pregnant with Violet while she was shooting the upcoming mystery-thriller film "Girl on the Train," which tells the story of the troubled and alcoholic Rachel Watson (Blunt) who gets obsessed with a seemingly perfect couple she watches during her train commutes. It was easy for Blunt to regain her postpartum figure after giving birth, and she attributes it to a "good pair of Spanx and some good genetics," People further reported.
The English-American actress is proud to have come from a "family of very thin people." According to Blunt, she and her siblings always have a fast metabolism.
Blunt and her husband, "The Office" actor John Krasinski, recently moved to New York from Los Angeles. The change of scenery permitted the couple to hang out with their friends and other power couples in Hollywood such as Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso, as well as Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky.
Blunt and Krasinski are both intent on keeping their private lives private, but the former indulges in talking about her children every now and then. Blunt recently told the Hollywood Reporter that Hazel is "sounding a bit American," particularly like a New Yorker. The child pronounces 'water' as "wah-ta."
Krasinski, 36, called Blunt as his "hero in every single way" in a recent appearance on "Sunday Today," E! News reported. Blunt, on the other hand, told InStyle in 2013 that meeting Krasinski "really changed" her life, adding that her husband provides her support on both good and bad days.
Blunt will be hosting the Oct. 15 episode of "Saturday Night Live," according to TVLine. The actress' headlining appearance in NBC's live television sketch comedy occurs one week after "The Girl on the Train" bows in theaters.
