Fans of the "Resident Evil" movie franchise are up for a treat as a new teaser trailer of "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" was released. The film is the sixth and last installment of the zombie apocalypse series coming out almost five years after the release of its prequel, "Resident Evil: Retribution" in 2012.
The new teaser trailer will surely excite the fans and hit the sentimental as it features clips throughout of this 15 years in the making action horror movie series. Fans should look out for the full trailer to be released at New York Comic Con this weekend.
According to Sony Pictures, the movie follows immediately after the events in "Resident Evil: Retribution". The former employee turned rogue Alice must fight to save mankind's remaining survivors against the hordes of undead and mutant monsters after the T-virus spread out through the world infecting hordes of people. After being betrayed by Albert Wesker, she and her friends must return to the Hive in Raccoon City, the place where it all began, to face the Red Queen and determine humanity's fate.
Based on Capcom's zombie-filled survival video game, the "Resident Evil" film franchise was written by Paul W.S. Anderson, who is likewise the director of "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" and three more movies. Ukranian-born American actress Milla Jovovich stars as Alice while other casts include Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker, Australian actress Ruby Rose playing as Abigail, Ali Larter as Claire Redfield, Eoin Macken as Doc, William Levy as Christian, Lee Joon-gi in the role of Commander Lee and Iain Glen as Dr. Alexander Isaacs.
Comicbook.com reveals that Resident Evil: The Final Chapter ended filming on 9 December 2015 and is set to premiere in theaters on 27 January 2017.
