Fans, rejoice! Joel Barish and Emily Kruczynzki are headed to the small screen. The indie-favorite 2004 movie, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," is now a TV series in the making with a spin-off currently being in talks, and soon, in production.
The Hollywood Reporter reports on confirmation of the adaptation of the science fiction-drama movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." The TV series will still be under the production of Anonymous Content.
This will also have the collaboration of Universal Cable Productions. Reboot of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" answers the growing demand for original films being translated for TV consumption, according to the report.
Long has been the era that TV shows are translated into movies but now, the tide has changed. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is one of the 500 original films lined up for reboot in the likes of "Magnum PI," "Let The Right One In" among a slew of others.
Apart from the confirmation that "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" will be adapted into series, no other information was released yet. The only detail as of now is that the development of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is at its infancy, not even the lead characters.
"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" movie had Emily Kruczynzki as reprised by Kate Winslet and Joel Barish as portrayed by Jim Carrey. Other stars who took part in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" were Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood, among others.
"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" tells about the story of Emily and Joel, a pair of lovers who eventually separated ways and wished to have each other removed in their memories. How their story unfolds in the small screen, hopefully, will give justice to the awards the film has won.
