'Narcos' Season 3 Cast News & Updates: Filming Begins! Boyd Holbrook Done With The Show? What He's Doing Next

"Narcos" has already started filming its third season. However, viewers expecting to see Agent Steve Murphy back might be in for a disappointment. It looks the character will no longer be part of the next season's story arc.

Actor Boyd Holbrook, an integral part of "Narcos" for its first two seasons, might just be done with the show. He has recently landed a couple of high profile roles in his next movie projects.

Work on "Narcos" Season 3 has started this week, as announced in the show's Twitter page. But one of its stars, Boyd Holbrook, might have no time to film the new "Narcos" as his next projects are also going to be rolling the cameras soon.

Boyd Holbrook will do the "Predator" reboot following "Narcos" and he's taking the role originally meant for Benecio del Torro, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Predator" is a remake of the 1987 film that made Arnold Schwarzenegger a famous action star. Bloody Disgusting reports that work on the movie has already started and will go on until December.

Boyd Holbrook is also starring in the new movie with Hugh Jackman called "Logan," where he's playing the villain cyborg Donald Pierce, Deadline reports. The movie based on the Wolverine character is also said to be a three-part franchise. With such a busy schedule, speculations to Boyd Holbrook's involvement in "Narcos" Season 3 seems to be getting clearer and clearer.

Previously, it has already been revealed that "Narcos" Season 3 will shift its focus from the Medellin cartel to the Cali cartel, as Parent Herald reported. In real life, Boyd Holbrook's Agent Steve Murphy was no longer involved in the crackdown of the Cali cartel although he remained with the DEA for decades. Thus, it is possible Boyd Holbrook's participation will no longer be required in "Narcos" Season 3, so he's free to work on other projects.

Netflix has yet to officially confirm the plot details to "Narcos" Season 3 but there have been plenty of teasers about the upcoming story's focus already. The third season of "Narcos" is expected to be released on the streaming site in the later part of 2017. Keep checking back to this site for the updates.
