'Resident Evil 7' Demo, News & Update: Capcom Game Won't Release Online Mode? Here's Why

11 years have passed yet the gaming holy grail, "Resident Evil", would not still be witnessed with an online mode. The latest installment of the horror survival game is in the final stages of work, but reports say that its awesomeness will remain offline.

WCCFTech reports that in an interview with Yugatech, "Resident Evil 7" creator Masachika Kawata confirmed that the news because their main goal is to provide the authentic "Resident Evil" experience. The creator pertains to the game's brand of horror experience and by playing alone, it can be achieved.

After all, the restriction made sense, and this explains best why the award-winning game never adapted online modes in the past decade. In a world where online games pop here and there, "Resident Evil" maintains strong as an offline masterpiece.

"Resident Evil 7" was also confirmed to be a single-player experience to maintain its key concept, unlike in "Resident Evil 5". Cooperative play mode will not be available and even the Mercenaries mode.

In fact, even if "Resident Evil" has been highly criticized in the past months, particularly "Resident Evil 6", it remains to be a popular game among players. Per TechnoBuffalo, "Resident Evil" series sold over 1.5 million copies since its maiden 2005 release.

Meanwhile, good news is that "Resident Evil 7" play demo will be made available soon for PC and Xbox ONE. Currently, playable demo is available for only PS4 but game developer, Capcom, along with the creator saw this need to satisfy Xbox and PC fans' request.

As for the reboot of "Resident Evil 2", Kawata said that it is still under works. Further, he assured fans that the team has been working hard for the remake and they hope to share new information as it develops more.

"Resident Evil" 7 will be released on January 2017. There will be one last update for its playable demo some time soon.
