Rumors also angered fans when an open letter claimed that movie execs are looking at changing Mulan's love interest to a European businessman who will end up the hero of the movie.
Just Jared recently released a report that has somehow appeased worried fans. The publication claimed that the "Mulan" live-action movie has a rewritten script that features an all Chinese cast.
Meanwhile, Movie Pilot has previously offered some viable candidates for the lead role in the "Mulan" live-action movie. Some of the more popular choices include Chinese actresses Zhang Ziyi and Fan Bingbing. Chinese-American Malese Jow and Japanese actress and "Pacific Rim" star Rinko Kikuchi are also top contenders, but perhaps the favorite among fans remains to be "Once Upon a Time" star Jamie Chung.
