Android 7.0 Nougat Update: List of Phones That Will Receive The Latest Update

The Android 7.0 Nougat update promising a more polished and a more stable experience have already been revealed that is why many Android device owners are excited about when and what phones will it be available.

The upgrades include the multi-window mode or the split-screen, quick app switching, and quick reply, among others. Here is a list of updates on which devices will receive the update.

Nexus

As always the Nexus family gets the Android updates first beginning in August. The list includes Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One). However, there are problems reported by owners of Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P after they have updated their devices to Android 7.0.

Samsung

According to Cnet, Samsung will also make a beta version of Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy Note 5 users of China and Korea. And before the release of the Galaxy Note 7 worldwide, phablets are already lined up by Samsung to receive the new update. Today, the list includes Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.However, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow has just been received by some carriers of Galaxy Note 4 in the U.S. How much more the newest update?

LG

According to Android Authority, the LG G5 could start getting its over-the-air update to Android 7.0 Nougat sometime in mid-November as declared by an Australian wireless carrier. Some of the devices that could receive the update are LG V20, LG V10, LG G5 and LG G3.

    Sony

    The Android N update strategy document from Sony Slovakia has newly leaked that the Android Nougat update for the Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X was set to receive on the later part of October. These devices are also said to receive the update such as Xperia Ultra, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia X, Xperia X Compact, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3+,Xperia Z4 Tablet and Xperia XA.However, this list was not yet confirmed by Sony.

    Motorola

    Although the newest device released by the company seemed to be absent from the list, these devices could have the newest update such as Moto G (4th Gen), Moto G Plus (4th Gen), Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, Droid Maxx 2 and Droid Turbo 2.

    HTC

    The company expects to have the update in the last quarter of 2016. The list includes HTC 10, HTC One M10, HTC One M9, and HTC One A9.

      OnePlus

      Although there is still no timeline as to when the update will be released, the 2016 flagship expects to receive the update in the first quarter of 2017. The update will be for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 2.
