Disney Channel's spin-off series, "Girl Meets World," is in hibernation mode yet again after Halloween special. The news of the hiatus came just two weeks after it went on a two-week break, which leads to speculations that there might be problems in continuing for "Girl Meets World" Season 4, and resulted in fans fighting to save the series.
It has been a good run for "Girl Meets World" so far. The Disney Channel series successfully created its strong fan base that even tried to go solid against the cancellation of "Girl Meets World". Fans have been consistent in clamoring to save the Freeform original series.
With all the news of "Girl Meets World" cancellation, fans started a petition to save their well-loved series. They even started brigades through change.org.
One petitioner said that "Girl Meets World" should run as long as it deserves to be, just like "Boy Meets World." They request to move the series to its original network, Freeform, because according to the petitioner, no series lasted more than three seasons in Disney Channel.
Plus, Disney Channel is a network whose target market is mainly younger kids. Hence, it would be disadvantageous for the network to air "Girl Meets World" longer for its somewhat mature plot.
As previously reported by Parent Herald, speculations of the end of "Girl Meets World" started to fly after Disney Channel allegedly disagreed on renewing the series. It fired up even more when the coming-of-age series writer tweeted the final episodes of "Girl Meets World" Season 3, the last one being "Girl Meets Goodbye."
Not only are the fans that have been dismayed over the cancellation rumors. August Maturo, reprising as Auggie, expressed how he is not ready yet for goodbyes.
"Boy Meets World" spin-off, "Girl Meets World," left fans for now with "Girl Meets World" Season 3 Episode 15 titled "Girl Meets Terror 3." Basically, the story evolved around the hypothesis of what if Riley (Sabrina Carpenter) and Maya (Rowan Blanchard) have not met each other in the first place, according to Entertainment Weekly.
"Girl Meets World" is slated next month on Disney Channel. What are your thoughts about "Girl Meets World" cancellation? Let us know by commenting below!
