It has been speculated that "Kingdom Hearts 3" could get a 2018 release date, and that it will be made available on the PS4 and Xbox One. One thing that's certain as of the moment is that the new game will be released after "KH 2.8."
As KH13 recently reported, Nomura confirmed that more details about "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be released after the "KH 2.8" on January 2017. He further shared that the theme song for the new game is still being decided upon.
Nomura also previously claimed that the the box art for "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix," "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix" and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" will reveal some details about "Kingdom Hearts 3."
