"Divergent" Director Neil Burger revealed that he thinks it is sad that the fourth installment of the hit movie will be turned into a TV show. He also expressed that it could be a regret that the producers split the third installment of the film into two. Meanwhile, "Divergent" actress Shailene Woodley already entered a not guilty plea on criminal trespassing and riot charges against her.
Director Burger said in an interview that Lionsgate may have seen some potentials in splitting the third book of "Divergent" into two when they were preparing "Allegiant." However, he expressed that the producers would not have been in a tight situation where they are in right now if they have not split the book. Though he expressed that it is sad that "Divergent: Ascendant" will be turned into a TV series, he believes that the spin-off show can still prove its potential, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
Meanwhile, "Divergent" actress Woodley already pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, Reuters reported. This reportedly saves her from 60 days from imprisonment with a fine of $3,000. Woodley, however, was not present during the court hearing held at Morton County District Court in North Dakota.
To recall, Woodley was arrested for criminal trespassing when she joined a protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline on Oct. 10. The "Divergent" actress live streamed the said protest through Facebook Live where she was seen being taken into custody. However, she was released immediately from the Morton Jail County after the arrest, Parent Herald reported.
The "Divergent" star also made it clear that she will not stop her fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline project even after being arrested for a post with hashtag #NoDAPL on her Instagram account. The Dakota Access Pipeline project purportedly aims to promote safer transport of Bakken shale to the United States Gulf but some believe that it may cause contamination of the lands from oil spills.
