Prince George's overflowing cuteness makes him a constant subject of interest every time the royal family is in public. During Princess Charlotte's baptism, the royal brother did not take the backseat. He made headlines again after his father was caught comforting him and mentioning unclear words that sounded like "nanny" or "granny," referring to his great-grandmother.
To the world, the Royal Queen is addressed as "Your Highness" or "Your Majesty," but the little prince has his own term of endearment for his beloved great-grandmother. Prince George dropped the usual honorary title, and, instead, used a cute nickname to address the queen, he called her "nanny" or "granny."
Mirror reveals this in a short video they captured while the royal family was heading to the Queen's Sandringham house from Princess Charlotte's christening.
In the footage, the little royal was holding Prince William's hand. As the father and son walk hand in hand on their way back home, the tot looked back to check if the Queen, his great-grandmother, the Middletons and the rest of the royals are still following them. Prince William assured his tyke that they are all coming. "You coming, they're all coming, we can go back to nanny's," Prince William told George.
Many believed that the family decided to make it easy for George; hence, dropping the "great" for the little one in addressing the Royal Queen.
Mirror reports that George calls her maternal grandmother, Carole Middleton, as grandma. On the other hand, it is already known that the young royals call the Queen as "granny." In 2012, William and Harry were spotted cheering the Queen during the Olympic Game opening ceremony. The two royals were shouting "Go Granny." Prince Harry confirmed that they address the Queen as "granny." In a Diamond Jubilee interview, Harry said, "To me she's just Granny."
During the royal event, the adorable little man occasionally waved to the crowd. He was wearing a pair of Rachel Riley smocked shirt and shorts that were similar to the outfit his father, William, wore when he visited Harry for the first time in 1984. Despite his age, the youngster already has an impact to the public, which many refer as "the Prince George effect."
The outfit he wore during the baptism was sold out within 24 hours, Hello Daily News has learned. George will be celebrating his second birthday on July 22, which will be another event to look forward to for the royal family.
Charlotte's baptism was the first event where the royal family made their first public appearance as a family of four.
