Gaming titan Nintendo hyped up the gaming community last October 20, 2016, with the official announcement of their new console Nintendo Switch. Formerly known as Nintendo NX, this new addition is scheduled to go public in March 2017.

A video featuring the console was also shown and it simply blew everyone away.

But as far as trailers go, a fine line exists between reality and Hollywood, which we will try to cross in order to better understand the specifics of this amazing innovation.

The pros and cons of the Nintendo Switch are kind of hard to describe. For starters, Nintendo Switch is totally different from the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and its older brother the Wii-U.

An article by BGR states: "It's a gaming that's mobile but not mobile gaming." This sets it apart from smartphones and tablets. So technically, the Nintendo Switch does not have any competition.

A quick description based on Nintendo Switch's reveal trailer shows a console that comes with what looks like a tablet, with a controller that comes off making the other half an extra controller for cooperative game play.

Aside from that, it diverts itself from using the Blu-ray disc and goes back to the traditional cartridge type, which adds to the convenience of outdoor gaming. In an article by PC Advisor, a rumored leak of Nintendo Switch's specs was revealed by an unnamed redittor. It states that 4K support although likely for video playback like Netflix. Gaming will be 1080p and 60fps and confirmed that device will be powered by a custom NVidia Processor.

Among the three titans in the gaming industry, Nintendo gets the so-called Legendary status because of its tenure, contribution, and unique innovations that dictate the trend followed by the gaming industry.

From the way things are going, Nintendo Switch could either be just another great product or once again change the direction in which the gaming industry is going.
