The favorite sideline reporter Craig Sager has been fighting leukemia. He is best known for his colorful suits. Although the NBA season is about to kick off, Sager won't be able to work as he continues treatment for the leukemia.
The NBA community in support of the favorite sideline reporter has gathered together to raise funds for the SagerStrong Foundation. In order to raise funds to help the foundation, the NBA made use of releasing limited sneakers and T-shirts inspired by Sager's love for bright colors and patterns.
CBS Sports reported that Nike released a limited edition Sager Strong Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, with only 100 pair. The favorite sideline reporter Sager had some part in designing the Sager Strong Nike Air Force 1 which will be auctioned off online on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The auction winners will get the sneakers custom-made. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the SagerStrong Foundation.
CBS Sports also reported that the SagerStrong Foundation will be selling also a T-shirt that will profit their organization. The T-shirt is basically an incorporation of the popular tuxedo shirt inspired by Sager's fashionable taste. Proceeds from the sales will go to the organization.
In an interview for For The Win, the President of Turner Sports Lenny Daniel said that it is been amazing to see the impact that Craig has made across the entire sports community and the expression of support that everyone has shown him as he undergoes his fight against cancer.
He further said that Craig is a beloved member of the Turner Sports family for a long time and the community will continue to do everything that they can to help drive awareness for this very important cause.
The Golden State Warriors also want to show their support for the favorite sideline reporter Craig Sager by giving away SagerStrong t-shirts to fans attending the Opening Night game against the San Antonio Spurs. The t-shirt was presented by the City National Bank, who will be making a donation to SagerStrong Foundation.
