HOLLYWOOD- The eight-division world champion superstar boxer Emmanuel Manny Dapidran Pacquiao is now ready for the Pacquiao vs. Vargas fight. But getting ready for the fight is not enough for the boxing champ Manny Pacquiao. He must be in his optimal state when the punches start coming in.
Inquirer News reported that boxing champ Pacquiao told Filipino sportswriters during his arrival at Los Angeles International Airport last Saturday night that he is ready now to trade some heavy blows with Vargas.
"This may only be half-truth, otherwise, Pacquiao wouldn't need to push himself as training is tapering down," according to Roach, a seven-time trainer of the year," boxing coach Freddie Roach said according to Inquirer. Freddie Roach recently received the BWAA Trainer of the Year for the seventh time.
However, the American lawyer, boxing promoter, and businessman Robert "Bob" Arum also explained the reason behind boxing champ Pacquiao did not win a knockout over Miguel Cotto in 2009. Arum said in a report from Boxing Screen that it is not about Manny is not hitting them hard but the opponents are very cautious in the ring. Boxing champ Pacquiao's opponents are not firing punches a lot as they should. It is not impossible for him to do that but it just a hell of a lot harder to do so when the opponents are not willing to open their punches up.
Knowing Pacquiao's passion for his sport, he demanded an uphill run at Griffith Park, to which coach Roach agreed under the condition that his prized ward won't overdo it.
Roach said that Manny really looks forward to that run, who was very pleased with their final training session which was bunged to the public at the Elorde Gym near the Mall of Asia.
That time Manny Pacquiao sparred over 10 rounds with the unbeaten Olympian Jose Ramirez and the flash Leonardo Doronio.
