Anyone would agree that watching an M. Night Shyamalan film is a mind-boggling experience. Indeed, the award-winning writer and director is best known for movies with strange plots and unexpected twists such as "The Sixth Sense," "Unbreakable," and "The Village." However, his next psychological flick, "Split" starring James McAvoy may just be the scariest M. Night Shyamalan film ever.
The above assumption came after Universal Pictures releases the second official trailer for the movie, "Split" this week. According to an article published in CinemaBlend, although a first trailer was released last July, the second movie clip will definitely send shivers down the spine. Of course, the outstanding performance of James McAvoy largely contributes to the chilling factor of the trailer.
A month ago, the M. Night Shyamalan film, "Split" had an early screening at the Fantastic Fest in Austin and earned positive reviews from the critics as reported by the Screen Rant. Critics who have seen the film are likewise quick to predict that "Split" can be M. Night Shyamalan's best film.
The film "Split" follows the story of a guy named Kevin (played by James McAvoy) who had the strangest case of multiple personality disorder with 23 different personalities living inside his head. In the story, Kevin kidnaps three girls and locked them up in a basement.
As the girls find ways to escape, they will discover their captors' uncanny illness. Meanwhile, another personality will grow inside Kevin, a horrifying inner beast which is set to murder the three young victims.
The suspense thriller, "Split" is scheduled to hit the theaters in January 2017. Along with James McAvoy, the movie "Split" also stars Betty Buckley and Anya Taylor-Joy. Since the second trailer looks really terrifying, let us all see if this latest M. Night Shyamalan movie will live up to the expectations.
