The UFC Featherweight Champion Conor Anthony McGregor seems to be very important in the Ultimate Fighting Championship than fans would ever know. The pay per view (PPV) rate in the past showed that the Notorious McGregor is the backbone of the fighting organization UFC.
MMA Junkie acquired internal UFC documents that were prepared as part of a presentation to potential investors before the promotion's $4 billion sales to WME-IMG. The documents revealed that the Notorious Conor McGregor is the biggest sketch in the UFC sport's history.
The documents also included the Notorious McGregor's two previous PPV fights in 2015 which was the featherweight title fight against Mendes at UFC 189 and his title unification bout against Aldo at UFC 194 fight. The record revealed that accounted income for the Notorious McGregor fights is more than a quarter of the UFC's total PPV sales in the entire year! With a combination of two fights, it generated a total of 2.025 million buys.
Sports Joe also revealed that McGregor added additional 1.3 million more buys in his first fight with Nate Diaz in 2016. With that reason, the UFC painted him as not only the biggest card at the moment but also the biggest draw in the history of the promotion. The document mentions the Notorious McGregor crossing the one million buy in the entrance of two of his three headlining efforts comparing other seasoned fighters like Lesnar and Silva who have achieved only one such a fight.
Meanwhile, in News Talk, UFC President Dana White spoke ahead of Game 3 of the World Series that Conor McGregor is a little tough to deal with but it all worth it. All the other antics and everything aside, the Notorious McGregor will step up and fight anybody, anywhere, and anytime. White also cited that he has never seen a fighter who has been in circumstances where somebody would pull out the week before a fight and does not care who the challenger might be.
White also spoke of his exhilaration ahead of UFC 205 and said it will be the biggest and worst card that they ever did in the history of the UFC.
