There is no doubt that the cast and characters in a film or TV show contribute to its success. According to recent reports, "Criminal Minds" fans are boycotting the series after the production fired Thomas Gibson. This triggers the rumors that "Criminal Minds" Season 12 could be its last run or might be canceled.
"Criminal Minds" has been gracing the small screens for over a decade already, so fans have attachments to its main characters. Initially, when news about Shemar Moore a.k.a. Derek Morgan on the show made headlines, fans are frantic. They thought that it will not be "Criminal Minds" anymore without agent Derek Morgan.
It was a bitter pill to swallow that Shemar Moore decided to leave "Criminal Minds" for a career leap. However, the show goes on. After all, it still has Matthew Gray Gubler, Kristen Vangsness and Thomas Gibson. Unfortunately, it didn't take long and Thomas Gibson also departed from "Criminal Minds."
While "Criminal Minds" fans try to be supportive of Shemar Moore's decision, they can't accept the fact that the production just fired Thomas Gibson a.k.a agent Aaron Hotchner . According to reports, Thomas Gibson and "Criminal Minds" writers Virgil Williams have a conflict resulting to the former being fired.
ABC and CBS released a joint statement that Thomas Gibson is dismissed from "Criminal Minds." The networks stressed that they will address Hotch's departure in the upcoming "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode, Inquisitr reported.
Meanwhile, Deadline reported that Thomas Gibson filed a lawsuit for alleged wrongful dismissal but his lawyers warned that it might just drag for years. "Criminal Minds" fans got Thomas Gibson's back boycotting the show without Hotch.
"Criminal Minds" Season 12 boycott continues as fan campaigns for the hashtag #NOHOTCHNOWATCH. If fans don't watch the show "Criminal Minds" rating will drop and the networks might not renew it or worse cancel the current season.
