Halloween Deadly Crash: Mother, Two Children From Mississippi Dead After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Trailer For Trick-Or-Treating

Halloween's trick-or-treating turned deadly in Mississippi after a mother and her two children were killed in a crash. A pick-up truck reportedly crashed into the trailer of the people trick-or-treating on October 31.

ABC News reported that families and groups of children get onto flatbed trailers in the Mississippi town of Chunky. During the Monday festivities, a pickup truck slammed into the back of a small utility trailer that was carrying 10 people. Seven other people were injured but a mother and her two young daughters got killed.

According to reports, the trailer was in a dark area and it was unusual because trailers for trick-or-treating were usually limited to where the lights are on. It was also said to be unusual because the trailer was driving out of Highway 80. The crash took place after sunset.

Those who were killed were identified as 33-year-old Kristina Shaver and her two daughters, eight-year-old Baylie and two-year-old Brooke. The driver of the Jeep that was pulling the trailer was able to escape the incident unscathed. Two more people inside the Jeep with the driver were also not injured. The driver of the pickup truck that hit the trailer also did not suffer from injuries.

The driver was identified as 20-year-old Chase Cook. No charges or arrests have been made yet. It is unclear if Cook will be charged in the crash.

For those who were injured in the crash, they have not been identified but are said to be three children, two teens and a woman. They have been taken to hospitals but their conditions remain unknown.

Shaver became a widow three months ago. Her husband, 36-year-old Kerr Douglas Shaver, was killed in a car wreck, The Clarion-Ledger reported.

One more daughter of Shaver was injured in the accident. She was identified as McKensey and is said to be in critical condition.
