After a short hiatus due to the Presidential Debates and the World Series, everyone's favorite music mogul family was finally back last night "Empire" season 3 episode 5.
Warning. This post contains spoilers for "Empire" season 3 episode 5. Do not read if you have not yet watched the episode.
Episode 4's biggest conflict was Shyne being held at gunpoint by Lucious and Andre Lyon on order for Nessa to be signed with them. This week, Shyne is out for revenge as he brings a gun to Jamal's place. When he finds Andre, he points the gun at him and shoots the trigger. It's blank but he pulls another gun, and thankfully Nessa, who in the last episode consummated her budding relationship with Andre, was there to stop Shyne.
Jamal is also taking steps to get over his fear of performing live. In "Empire" season 5 episode 3, titled "One Before Another", he gets to go on Hakeem's live stream, but things don't go as planned. But if you're Lucious, things are great as the live stream had more people tuning into it when Hakeem went on a tirade and fought with Jamal and Andre. Lucious is happy with the results but Cookie is fuming.
Onto Cookie's developing relationship with Angelo Dubois, played by the ever gorgeous Taye Diggs. According to Hollywood Life, the relationship hit a snag when Dubois accused Cookie of having unresolved feelings and issues with her ex-husband Lucious. But it looks like it's back on track at the end of "Empire" season 3 episode 5 as Angelo helps Cookie with her parole officer, and claims that he is serious regarding pursuing a relationship with the Lyon matriarch.
Shyne seems to be still out for blood, despite the deal he got from the Lyons. He is last seen with Tariq, seemingly telling the officer that Lucious had something to do with the death of Frank Gathers, according to IB Times.
Looks like the Lyons should ready themselves for another bout with the law in the next episodes of "Empire" season 3.
