‘Suits’ Season 6 Winter Premiere Date Revealed: Series Ending After Season 8? What To Expect From Harvey & Louis’ Leadership

USA Network has revealed an official return date for "Suits" Season 6. The legal drama's winter premiere date is set on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at 10/9c.

The remaining six episodes of "Suits" will pick up straightaway after the midseason cliffhanger in September, which showcased Jessica (Gina Torres) leaving to Chicago with her boyfriend, Jeff (D.B. Woodside), and leaving the fate of Pearson Specter Litt in the hands of Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Louis (Rick Hoffman), TVLine reported. With this recent change, Harvey and Louis must learn to put aside their differences to make the firm stay afloat after the whole Mike (Patrick J. Adams) debacle.

On "Suits" Season 6, Harvey and Louis "more than ever will rely on the wit and intuition of Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and Rachel (Meghan Markle), their most trusted advisors, to keep them on track," according to the official synopsis. Aside from dealing with Pearson Specter Litt's survival, the sixth season of "Suits" will also address the aftermath of Louis' proposal to his pregnant girlfriend, Tara (Carly Pope).

Mike, meanwhile, has finally gotten out of prison and it remains to be seen whether his marriage with Rachel would push through on "Suits" Season 6. Through it all, Mike will be adjusting to a life of not being a lawyer anymore.

"Suits" creator Aaron Korsh recently addressed Macht's rumored departure from the series. In a tweet posted on Oct. 9, Korsh confirmed that the actor will return for Season 7. Parent Herald also previously reported that all "Suits" regulars are renewed through Season 7.

Korsh is keeping the door open for Torres' return to "Suits" even for just a guest gig, TVGuide reported. Torres left "Suits," which shoots in Toronto, Canada, to be with her family in Los Angeles and has already landed a recurring role on ABC's "The Catch."

On a Twitter Q&A this week, Korsh hinted about the future of "Suits" beyond Season 7, saying that he thinks the show will "go at least [Season] 8." Of course, the possibility of "Suits" ending in Season 8 remains to be seen.

"Suits" Season 6 will also address Harvey and Donna's handholding scene at the end of episode 10. Rafferty said that Harvey and Donna holding hands was a huge and big step for the duo, while Korsh described the scene as "an intimate moment" and it was proof of the two's attempt to deepen "their intimacy with each other."
