The Washington Wizards had another disappointing campaign last season after critics speculated the team would make the 2016 NBA Playoffs. The team lacked defensive intensity and suffered many player injuries last season which made it more difficult for the team to push for a playoff run, according to CBS Sports.
There is another major problem for this franchise. In a recent interview with CSN Mid-Atlantic, Wizards star point guard John Wall admitted that he and teammate Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards had a tendency to not like each other on the court. This particular statement of Wall indicates a tension between the two shining stars of the Wizards.
Bradley Beal just signed a 5-year max extension worth $128 million last July which will make him earn more than the All-Star point guard. John Wall is in his 7th year with the team and signed an $84 million extension last year and Beal is just on his 5th year. The Wizards believed that the dynamic duo will be the cornerstones of the franchise.
In a scene of the interview with Wall, he stated that there were a lot of moments where they can not compliment each other and that they need to put this aside for the greater good of the team. Wall said that now that Beal got paid, he needs to improve his game and gain respect around the league to be selected as an All-Star just like John Wall being an All-Star.
Critics believe that the future of the franchise is in both their hands. Wall and Beal make a formidable backcourt. However, they must learn to play off each other and feed the energy to the whole team. People think that it was a good idea that they expressed what they feel about each other but they also need to know how to play with each other to succeed.
With these reports circling around the league, there were rumors that a trade between three teams might happen in the near future. The trade proposal involves the Philadelphia 76ers and the Phoenix Suns. The Sixers will receive All-Star John Wall, the Wizards will get Jahlil Okafor and Brandon Knight, then the Suns will be compensated with two 1st round draft picks coming from the 76ers, one in 2017 and one in 2019 NBA draft, via Inquisitr.
The 76ers are stacked with young centers while the Suns are clogged in the backcourt positions which makes this trade deal more interesting. There were speculations that if the tandem of Wall and Beal in the Wizards will not work out, breaking them up may be a good idea and this rumored trade proposal may be seen in the near future.
