NBA Latest News: No. 1 Draft Pick Ben Simmons Reveal Bad NCAA Experience.

Ben Simmons was picked number 1 overall in the 2016 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers last June and was a standout player in just 1 year in college. He went to LSU to show off his talents and gain eligibility in the coming NBA draft.

The Australia-born basketball prodigy chose to be patient and went through the process to be eligible for the NBA draft last June. In his lone season in the college basketball, Simmons experience was already sufficient to have an extreme outlook about the NCAA's governing body, according to NBC Sports.

In a recent documentary entitled "One And Done", Simmons opened up about all of his frustrations through his experience in the NCAA. He stated that student athletes are the ones who work very hard and get nothing while people around these young players are getting richer by making money out of them, via ESPN.

Ben Simmons said that people will come to him and offer things more than he could imagine. Automobiles, house, shoes, and even jewelry. When he became the number one in consensus to be the overall 1st pick in the NBA, agents and shoe companies started to surround him and he was strong enough to avoid the temptations. Simmons did not declare who these people were.

The documentary shows the path of a young prospect, starting from his high school in Orlando, his lone season in the NCAA up to his selection as the overall 1st pick in the NBA.

Simmons confessed that he was no longer interested attending classes when he passed the 1st-semester and became eligible for the coming NBA draft. He felt that it was pointless and he could not get any degree for just 1 year in college. He stated that his college coach punished him for not being able to attend classes and even benched him for 4 minutes on one of his games in the NCAA.

There were even arguments within Ben Simmons' family and the reason why her sister, Emily Bush stepped in and managed Ben Simmons' career to minimize the role of their parents. Their parents feared that the NCAA would clear up their son's one year stint in college. Emily Bush had kept all the receipts they purchased while he was in school, however, she said that it does not mean that they approve and were okay with the regulations.

In a scene from the documentary, Ben Simmons said that the NCAA only used him to make money and this was the reason why he decided to be the "Voice" of other student-athletes who were also experiencing the same experience he had.
