"The Winds Of Winter" ("TWOW") author George R.R. Martin has "A Song Of Ice And Fire" and "Game Of Thrones" tv series fans in suspense and may be more so after one "ASOIF" myth was recently debunked. "TWOW" release is still a major suspense but is "The Winds Of Winter" author really guilty of inefficiency?
Winter Is Coming cites "The Expanse" co-writer Ty Franck as his revelations on George R.R. Martin gives a new view into "The Winds Of Winter" release date. Ty Franck worked with George R.R. Martin before the "ASOIF" author's assistant found his own fame with "The Expanse."
"A Song Of Ice And Fire" and "Game Of Thrones" fans held to the myth that George R.R. Martin writes his materials on an ancient DOS PC with WordStar. However, Ty Franck clarified that "The Winds Of Winter" author's old DOS machine died some time ago and has been replaced.
What George R.R. Martin uses for his writing now is a high-tech machine which is also able to run DOS and WordStar 4.0. According to Ty Franck, George R.R. Martin refuses to have internet connection in this machine as "The Winds Of Winter' author safeguards against having his projects hacked and leaked.
Interestingly, Ty Franck also confirmed what George R.R. Martin has openly admitted to "ASOIF" and "Game Of Thrones" fans. George R.R. Martin sits in front of his state-of-the-art machine and waits for inspiration to strike before he writes. When none is forthcoming "The Winds Of Winter" author is unable to make much progress in his writing.
Ty Franck admitted to finding that the method George R.R. Martin uses for writing is not time-efficient. "That works for him; he's able to produce work, so more power to him, but that just seems like a really inefficient way to get a story out, from my perspective," Ty Franck said of George R.R. Martin.
As a result, "The Winds Of Winter" author tends to rewrite chapters repeatedly according to Ty Franck. At the very least, "ASOIF" and "Game Of Thrones" fans do not have to despair that the remaining chapters of "The Winds Of Winter" are being written and repeatedly rewritten on a clunky old DOS PC.
As Parent Herald cites "The Winds Of Winter" is believed to be hitting the shelves in 2017 at the earliest and 2018 at the latest. "The Winds Of Winter" will be, more or less, flanked by "Game Of Thrones" Season 7, which will be released in the summer of 2017.
