"Annabelle 2" has been confirmed and fans are definitely looking forward to the chills and jump scares the sequel will deliver. After the success of the first movie, producers thought it was only fitting to do a follow-up movie on the nightmare inducing doll that scared the world.
Coming Soon recently reported that "Annabelle 2" will be a prequel. The movie will explore the beginnings of the evil doll Annabelle, as audiences get to know her makers.
As some "Annabelle 2" plot details revealed, the upcoming horror flick will follow the lives of a dollmaker and his wife, and the sorrow they had to endure after losing their daughter. In "Annabelle 2," viewers will see the horror unfold twenty years later as the couple opens the door of their home to a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage.
"Anabelle 2" will star Miranda Otto and Stephanie Sigman among others and will be directed by "Lights Out" director David Sandberg. "Annabelle 2" aims to be a blockbuster hit like the first movie by enlisting the genius of Gary Dauberman, the writer who penned the script of the previous installment. "Annabelle" was a worldwide success after it raked in a total of $256 million globally.
Meanwhile, "Annabelle 2" costume designer Leah Butler dished on some creepy details that happened on the set of the upcoming movie. In a Cosmo interview, Butler recalled that they had a priest bless the doll on set after an actress claimed it was necessary to avoid bad things from happening. She shared that the real Annabelle doll freaked a lot of people out.
