Good news, all avid horror movie fans! Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have finally released the trailer for the upcoming horror film, "Annabelle 2." Unfortunately, not everyone was impressed with the hair-raising trailer, which seemed to debut early based on Hollywood marketing standards.

With the release of the "Annabelle 2" trailer, some movie experts noticed Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema wanted to get its latest horror flick on the radar of the audiences early. The reason? "Annabelle 2" will be facing a tough box office competition as it is set to be released on the same day with movies like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul," "Baywatch and "The Nut Job 2," Cinema Blend revealed.

The online news site also noted the fact that "Annabelle 2" release date comes just two weeks after the world premiere of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Considering the circumstance, it's quite a smart idea to release a trailer early on so fans will already be anticipating the movie in the coming months.

Speaking of the "Annabelle 2" trailer, Variety described the movie's first teaser as "horrifying." In the creepy video, the dollmaker's wife, played by Miranda Otto, was seen entering a room while holding a crucifix but what was really terrifying was hearing the spine crack while supernatural things happen.

Helmed by "Lights Out" director David F. Sandberg, "Annabelle 2" is a prequel that will follow the origins of the evil-possessed doll and will also show the events before "The Conjuring" ensued. According to Screen Crush, the viewers will be taken back to the time when the spirit of a murdered little girl Annabelle Higgins inhabited the doll.

As for "Annabelle 2" synopsis, "The Conjuring" prequel will depict the lives of a doll-maker and his wife several years after the tragic death of their daughter. But spooky things began in the household when the couple welcomes a nun and little girls from an orphanage into their home, Dread Central noted.

Meanwhile, "Annabelle 2" will feature the acting performances of Miranda Otto, Samara Lee, Stephanie Sigman, Anthony LaPaglia, Lulu Wilson, Tayler Buck, Philippa Anne Coulthard, Lou Lou Safran and Grace Fulton. "Annabelle" movie sequel, which will reportedly feature more creepy-looking dolls, will haunt theaters on May 19, 2017, as per Entertainment Weekly.
