CW's comedy-crime drama "iZombie" season 3 is rumored to be its last because of the reported negative ratings and reviews it has been receiving. However, director Rob Thomas confirmed that "iZombie" will continue.
Thomas didn't deny the fluctuating ratings but confirmed that it is not enough reason to cancel "iZombie." Liv Moore, as played by Rose McIver, will have better luck in her relationships than in prrevious "iZombie" installments which portrayed her boyfriends dying or becoming a zombie.
"iZombie" director Thomas is reported to be thinking about Liv having a fresh start and another love interest. The director didn't specify if it's someone cast in "iZombie" or another new face altogether.
The speculation of "iZombie" having to be cut off began when Thomas was reported to be helping the CW create a new series based on "The Lost Boys," according to Comic Book. The "iZombie" director disagreed.
The premiere date of season 3 isn't announced yet but "iZombie" could be aired anytime between January and March given the fact that January is when last year's midseason shows began to air in CW and March being the premiere of "iZombie".
Christian Today reported that apart from Thomas lending a hand in "The Lost Boys," talks of "iZombie" delivering its last season began when Liv was speculated to be reverting back to her human form and being able to discover a permanent cure in treating infected zombies. Liv was also speculated to be with Major.
Season 2 of "iZombie" ends with an action-packed finale with Blaine having an amnesia and Liv and Major fighting off not only Vaughn but also defrosted zombies. The last episode of "iZombie" titled "The Salvation Army" leaves Vivian asking Liv whether she's with them or not.
"iZombie" is based on a Vertigo comic book created by Michael Allred and Chris Roberson. It is about an overachiever medical resident developing psychic abilities after having to feed on the brains of corpses. She uses this skill to solve their murders with a detective.
