'Street Fighter V' Latest News & Update, Release Date: Akuma, 'Skies Of Honor' Stage To Come In Capcom's Latest Fighter Game

Just a few day ago, Capcom revealed that Akuma will be the new challenger to embark on the classic fighting video game, "Street Fighter V." Now, the gaming company has teased the new set where fighters are slated to battle.

PVP Live reports that the new stage for Capcom's "Street Fighter V" will be up in the skies. In a tweet, the new battlefield was announced by the company featuring an image of what is touted as "Skies of Honor." The new "Street Fighter" V" battle stage will be launched today, Nov. 11.

The details stated in the official Twitter post of "Street Fighter V" were scarce, but as the image reveals, "Skies of Honor" is set on Rashid's plane--particularly on the wing of his aircraft. The pair of screenshots further show different point of views, one being bird's eye while the other being worm's eye.

The new "Skies of Honor" comes with a cost. "Street Fighter V" fanatics can purchase the new battle stage for $3.99.

On Nov. 6 during the Red Bull Battlegrounds Tournament in Seattle, Akuma was teased in the preview of "Street Fighter V." GameSpot reports that Akuma was seen to showcase his renowned Shun Goku Katsu stance. Further, a Japanese glyph notably placed in Akuma's vest could be seen in the teaser.

However, keen fans have noticed that the Japanese character used in "Street Fighter V" was different from the original one that Akuma has been known to have. It reportedly resembled the one in "Capcom Vs. SNK 2." Commonly, the Japanese Kanji in Akuma's back is a reference to heaven, but for this "Street Fighter V" teaser, it meant "God."

The change in Akuma's Japanese Kanji became a root of speculation that his capabilities in "Street Fighter V" might be different in previous gaming versions. Others theorize that it may mean that Akuma can morph into Shin Akuma.

As to when Akuma will officially be launched for "Street Fighter V," Capcom is yet to reveal. What is known so far is that "Street Fighter V" will be playable at PlayStation Experience on Dec. 3 to 4 in Anaheim Convention Center.
