"The Get Down" Season 1 Part 2 from Netflix and creator Baz Luhrmann will have major events in store for Ezekiel "Books" Figueroa (Justice Smith), Shaolin Fantastic (Shameik Moore) and Mylene Cruz (Herizen F. Guardiola). With Baz Luhrmann already in full swing with "The Get Down" Season 2 production, S1 Part 2 is ready to bridge the Netflix series onto "TGD 2."

Currently, "The Get Down" series is enjoying a reputation for being the most expensive TV production on Netflix. Parent Herald cites report by Deadline that "The Get Down" Season 1 was produced with USD 16 million per episode.
Slate reports, Netflix will be releasing "The Get Down" Season 1 Part 2 in the spring of 2017. As recapped on Refinery 29, "The Get Down" Season 1 Part 1 finale ("Raise Your Words Not Your Voice) ended with the promise of big things for Zeke Figueroa, Shaolin Fantastic and Mylene Cruz.
The Get Down Crew came out victorious in their face off with Notorious III. Things, however, seemed touch and go for a little while for the Get Down Crew.
The group got their mojo back when Zeke finally showed up and the Get Down Crew dominated the scene. Refinery 29 also pointed out that "The Get Down" Season 1 Part 1 finale was also the moment where Mylene Cruz had the epiphany about the potential in Zeke's music.
Fans of the Netflix series are, of course, waiting to see if "The Get Down" Season 1 Part 2 will finally give Mylene Cruz that record deal for which she seemed destined. Revelation by Baz Luhrmann on Twitter of "The Get Down Season 2" production progress assured fans that the Netflix series is in no danger of cancellation.
