‘Pokémon GO’ Generation 2 Pokémon Found Within Game’s Code! Ditto, Chikorita, Celebi & More Spotted

Since the game's launch in July, "Pokémon GO" players are clamoring for more Pokémon. Now, it seems that upcoming updates for "Pokémon GO" are leaning toward these players' wishes. Users found strong hints of new Pokémon within the game's latest code.

Folks from TheSilphRoad found the code by looking through the "Pokémon GO" v0.45 APK's code. They revealed that the game's code references 100 new Pokémon, from Pokédex #152 (Chikorita) to #251 (Celebi).

The 100 new Pokémon's moveset data or combat moves weren't spotted yet and "Pokémon GO" players must update the app for the monsters to appear. Aside from that, they also found 52 new Pokémon families again from Chikorita to Celebi and also include Ho-Oh and Lugia, among others.

One new move has been added to "Pokémon GO" and it's called "Transform." According to TechCrunch, the Transform move could signal the elusive Ditto's arrival. Ditto is a highly coveted Generation 1 Pokémon but hasn't appeared in "Pokémon GO" yet. Plenty of players believe that Niantic needs time to perfect Ditto's transformation ability.

The Silph Road, however, noted that the "Pokémon GO" GAME_MASTER file does not add Transform as one of Ditto's movesets, at least not yet. At the moment, Ditto only has Struggle as its move and it's likely that Transform won't officially become the Pokémon's move. The Transform code found within the Game's code could simply be an event that occurs whenever Ditto is in battle.

"Pokémon GO" data miners also found the Lockout and Guest systems within the game's code. The Lockout system, also called as the anti-gym-sniping system, involves showing a new error message if a "Pokémon GO" player is locked out. It also shows an 'ending millisecond' timer for deploy lockouts, among others.

The Quest system, on the other hand, includes daily bonuses and a weekly bonus based on a multiplier. There's the Condolence Ribbon as well, which Niantic is rolling out for historical reasons. It was previously seen in "Pokémon GO" when the developer put a black condolence ribbon on Thai players' app after the country's king passed away.

TheSilphRoad speculated that Ditto and the 100 new Pokémon would likely appear in "Pokémon GO" in a few weeks or months. Rest assured, however, that Niantic is on their way to that.
