"A Series of Unfortunate Events" new teaser apparently revealed the star who will portray Aunt Josephine. A speculation surfaced online that Aunt Josephine will be played by Alfre Woodard. Additionally, the new teaser showed fans a first look at Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf.
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" on Netflix is rumored to see "Luke Cage" actress Woodard as Aunt Josephine based on the recently released Netflix teaser. In the said teaser, a woman's voice was heard shouting, "villain, wretch!." The voice was speculated to come from actress Woodard as Aunt Josephine though her character on the series has not been confirmed yet, MoviePilot reported.
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" character Josephine is a woman who is irrationally and constantly afraid. The Baudelaires were taken into her custody for a while but she left them to hide in a cave. The orphans found her but Count Olaf appeared and captured the children while leaving her alone in the middle of the lake.
Speaking of Count Olaf, the new teaser of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" finally revealed actor Harris as the villainous guardian of the Baudelaires. Their first meeting seems to be frightening as he welcomed the children with a threat. In the teaser, he said, "You haven't the faintest idea."
The new teaser also showcased the first look at the Baudelaire orphans, Malina Weissman as Violet, Louis Hynes as Klaus and the baby, Sunny. Netflix' adaptation of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" is said to have a darker take than the 2014 film adaptation, Parent Herald reported. Additionally, "A Series of Unfortunate Events" on Netflix is also suggested to have a more detailed plot compared to the movie.
