iPhone 8 is rumored to be the first device from Apple that will be capable of truly wireless and constant charging. Apple is also expected to give its iPhone 8 a complete redesign in celebration of iPhone's 10th year anniversary. That said, iPhone 8 is said to be a huge game changer in the smartphone industry.
iPhone 8 is speculated to implement a new wireless charging innovation that allows the device to charge up to 15 feet across the room. The technology requires a small transmitter to be plugged in an outlet, allowing the iPhone 8 to be charged constantly even when in use. The smartphone is also said to have an embedded receiver that makes wireless charging possible, Pocket-lint reported.
iPhone 8 is also suggested to have a fully redesigned front and back panels made with glass, BGR reported. The edges around the device's body is still expected to be made of metal. Additionally, one major change on iPhone 8 is the removal of Apple's round home button, giving the new device a larger front screen.
Speaking of screens, Apple's new device is expected to have an OLED display which is also a first from the iPhone lineup. A Touch ID fingerprint scanning technology is said to be integrated beneath its display. iPhone 8 is also said to have 3D Touch gesture support as a replacement for the home button functions.
However, these specs need to be taken with a grain of salt for now as Apple has not confirmed their plans for iPhone 8 yet. Additionally, even the rumored wireless charging feature of the iPhone 8 is still yet to be confirmed. The reason being is that the company speculated to manufacture the wireless charging module, Energous, has not revealed whether or not they are actually working for Apple.
