'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' Reviews & News: 'Harry Potter' Prequel A Blockbuster For Critics [Roundup]

This is going to be a big week for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" as it is about to be released in theaters. Critics have already given the latest movie from "Harry Potter" creator J.K Rowling rave reviews and it is expected to become a blockbuster hit.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has been given a 5-star rating by The Guardian. It cites that the movie is "a rich, baroque, intricately detailed entertainment."

Written by "Harry Potter" creator J.K. Rowling and directed by David Yates, it has been described as a fun movie that also delivers a masterful tone from Rowling. Variety cites that "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" showcases both the strength and weakness of Rowling. It notes that the best-selling author has definitely learned a lot from growing her "Harry Potter" franchise.

Though a lauded novelist, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is the first screenplay for J.K. Rowling. Den of Geek cites that she has done a good job and is well-deserved of the praises.

Collider calls J.K. Rowling a wizard for her work on "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." As it is, the movie is already set for four more sequels with Yates confirming he's signing on to direct all films. Rowling has in fact finished the script for the second movie already even before the movie makes its theater debut.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is based on a textbook that has been mentioned in the "Harry Potter" stories. According to The Sun, this textbook can be found in Dumbledore's library and it was written by Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in 1927.

Scamander works for the Ministry of Magic's Beast Division and the film follows his many adventures of discovery new entities around New York. Aside from Redmayne, the film also stars Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton and Dan Folger. "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" is slated for release in the U.S. on Nov. 15 and U.K. on Nov. 18.
