A mother who started selling a "Make America Kind Again" lawn signs on the internet didn't think much about her business taking off. Yet she continues to receive more orders with the infamous slogan, especially after what has been happening post-election.
Amanda Blanc from California created the "Make America Kind Again" lawn signs in October 2015 without any political motives. Her idea was about spreading a neutral campaign on kindness, whether a person supported Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. Her sign board, however, was inspired by Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan.
Amanda Blanc sold her "Make America Kind Again" signs on Etsy and she was surprised that the first 100 handmade signs sold out within two days. She also completed over 300 orders days before the election. She reveals that even as the election is over, she still keeps receiving orders and have actually been challenged to deliver all of these as she's the only person handling her small-time business.
"Once the results came in Tuesday night, I did kind of expect it to slow down a little bit," Amanda Blanc said, according to ABC News, but the opposite happened. "They just keep pouring in. They're not slowing down," she said. It looks like more and more people want to own the sign, perhaps because of what has been happening after the elections.
Since Donald Trump has been announced as President-elect, America has been gripped with protests and stories about attacks on persons of color. But there are also several Americans hoping for unity amid the chaos. The "Make America Kind Again" sign boards seem to be more vital now more than ever and Amanda Blanc is only happy to deliver all orders.
"I hope that people are trying to come together and trying to get rid of those divisions," she said, according to Fox 40. Learn more about Amanda Blanc and her "Make America Kind Again" campaign in the video below.
