"Iron Man 4" is still up in the air as of the moment. With speculations still suggesting that a fourth installment could be underway, will Marvel soon give in to the demands of their fan base?
New reports have surfaced claiming that there could still be hope for "Iron Man 4." Previous reports claimed that a new movie starring Robert Downey Jr. could be out of the picture since there have been disputes over the actor's salary. Apart from his high talent fee, sources claim that RDJ might be too old to play the iconic superhero once "Iron Man 4" gets the green light.
Perhaps there could be a possibility that RDJ could return to make "Iron Man 4" if it will be helmed by Mel Gibson. As Comic Book News recently noted, RDJ did say that he might consider taking on the role for another standalone movie if "The Passion of Christ" director will be on board.
The outlet also reported that Gibson said that it "might be fun" to direct "Iron Man 4," although he did not confirm whether he is really interested to be direct an MCU flick. The actor/director also claimed that making the new movie with RDJ would be "bananas."
Apart from rumors that Mel Gibson could be part of the team behind "Iron Man 4," there are also rumors claiming that the new standalone movie could make Tony Stark as its villain. "If we're going to go there, then we've got to save it for my swan song," Downey said in a previous USA Today report.
