The gaming community has been patiently waiting for the "Half-Life 3" to launch, and the only ongoing is its remarkable delay. And yet as of today, despite the game's unrelenting presence in news feeds, as to when it will finally hit the markets is still up in the air.
The first installment was in June of 2006 titled "Half-Life 2: Episode One," and is about to celebrate its ninth anniversary this coming Nov. 19. And yet, the followers who are still waiting for the "Half-Life 3" are getting frustrated by the delay.
Based on the report of Health Aim, the most recent update coming from Valve's top man himself, Gabe Newell regarding the third installment was June of this year. Apparently, on the said interview, Newell didn't sound optimistic about the release of "Half-Life 3." Nonetheless, the rumors resurfacing, for the fans, could mean that it is getting closer to its release date.
During the discussion of the game's plot, Newell said that the "Half-Life 3" will split into three small episodes. According to an article posted by Neuro Gadget, the game is offering full virtual reality support due to claims of HTC and Valve's partnership involving HTC's virtual headset called HTC Vibe. The VR plan is still a speculation since HTC hasn't commented on it and Valve also denied the rumor.
Some leaks about the game say that the "Half-Life 3" will feature a Kraken base picking up the storyline of "Half-Life 2." The players might have to use submarines and go through underwater terrains.
Every now and then, leaks about its development and possible release date have been encouraging the fans to hold on and wait. However, the Valve stopped sharing updates regarding the upcoming installment.
There is a small chance that the gamers around the world will not see the light of "Half-Life 3." The game's success from its first installment is more likely just putting pressure on Valve to deliver the third installment with new and better features.
