Is Taylor Swift Ditching Pop For Rap And Hip-hop In Her Next Album? Drake Influencing The 'Bad Blood' Singer's Music?

Taylor Swift has never been the one to shy away from a challenge and she's known for her trailblazing ways. But is the world ready for Swift's new sound of hip-hop and R&B?

Having already conquered the country and pop music, the singer-songwriter is may be looking to convert new fans to her music. And who could do it better than the "6 God" himself, Drake? Dating rumors have been ablaze when the two music superstars have been spotted together recently but there's a chance that the two are also hooking up in the studio.

The Sun first reports Swift's change of heart from pop to hip-hop and R&B. A source told The Sun that the 27-year-old is "looking ways to grow as an artist" and is experimenting with her new album that is "a real mix of edgier hip-hop and R&B sounds".

Drake, who posted a photo of the two on Instagram and striking a worldwide frenzy of their coupling, has been said to be writing new songs with Swift and even "lent his vocals to one song". This may be a smart move since her single "Bad Blood", which featured rapper Kendrick Lamar, is a big hit among fans.

While Swift has been notorious about writing her exes into her music, Drake would not be the first love interest to collaborate with Swift on a song. After her breakup with British DJ Calvin Harris, major drama emerged when Swift implied Harris was purposely ignoring her contribution to his hit song, "This Is What You Came For". TMZ reported that Swift felt "disrespected" when the song was released and decided to confront Harris publicly.

In response, Harris went on a Twitter rant, which he has since deleted, explaining that she was the one who wanted to be uncredited in the song. With Drake's involvement in Swift's upcoming album out in the open, rest assured that fans will not be seeing a Twitter meltdown from either artist.

Coincidentally, both artists have just emerged from devastating break-ups: Taylor Swift called it quits with actor Tom Hiddleston while Drake recently broke up with Rihanna. Perhaps their rebound relationship could produce more catchy music about their respective exes.

This is not the first time that Swift has strayed away from her roots. Initially a country singer darling, Swift broke into the music industry with songs like "Teardrops on My Guitar" and "Our Song" back in 2007. However, as she rose to fame and become a household name, Swift made the switch to a more pop-friendly sound with her most recent albums "Red" and "1989".

Will you listen to Taylor Swift's new sound? What kind of music genre do you think she should try next? Leave a comment below.
