"Harry Potter GO" is what Niantic is working on now after the huge success of "Pokemon Go." The developer decided to rope in the Harry Potter fans and now there are rumors that Niantic will soon release "Harry Potter GO."
Niantic is targeting the die-hard fans of the "Harry Potter" book and movie series. The movie series was concluded in 2011. Harry Potter has a steady fan base and by making "Harry Potter GO" the developer can tap into this fan base as well as the players of "Pokemon GO."
A trailer of "Harry Potter GO" has come out on YouTube making fans more excited about its release. This is a mock-up trailer to just give a feel as to how the game would be. The fan-made clip showed Harry Potter characters moving in an AR world where they hunt beasts, choose their house (Gryffindor, Slytherin) and collect wizarding cards, reported Cinema Blend.
It is not just the trailer which shows the enthusiasm of the fans. There is also reportedly an online petition which asks Niantic to develop the mobile application "Harry Potter GO." Gamers and Harry Potter fans are hoping to see a game patterned after the hit AR game "Pokemon GO."
'Fantastic Beasts' Game To Be Released
There are reports that there is an upcoming game entitled "Fantastic Beast: Cases From the Wizarding World." The game is set to release on the App Store and Google Play on November 17. The date is chosen to coincide with the air date of the Harry Potter prequel "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
This game will not be an augmented reality "Harry Potter" game but it is close to what players are expecting. Using the app, the players can go into signature Hogwarts destinations like the Diagon Alley, Leaky Cauldron and Hogsmeade. Excitingly, the players can also be sorted in the four houses at Hogwarts. It is just like joining Harry on a mission. Apart from these, the players will also get an access to a "Marauder's Map." This will help them explore the Hogwarts castle, reported Counsel and Heal.
The fans are eagerly waiting for Niantic to work on the "Harry Potter GO" game. But, as they wait for it, they can try the "Fantastic Beasts" game.
