'To Selena, With Love' TV Series: Jennifer Lopez To Reprise Selena Role?

Endemol Shine North America got the TV rights of "To Selena, With Love." The new project was based on the 2012 book written by Selena's husband, Chris Perez. Endemol is the company that produced hit shows like "The Biggest Loser," "Big Brother" and "The Steve Harvey Show."

The love of Tejano music is even more enhanced by the Latina star, Selena Quintanilla and husband Chris Pérez that would come to life again but this time on TV. She was a rising personality when she was killed by her fans club founder that devastated the world in 1995.

Her album "Dreaming of You" was a hit selling more than 5 million copies. Jennifer Lopez even portrayed her in her biopic two years after her death. No one could ever think that she would die the way she did. Would JLo do the same on television? This is not mentioned in the press release.

Her legacy was not only preserved by the entertainment world but her memories are kept alive by the people who love her dearly, most especially her husband, Chris Perez. Cris Abrego, the CEO of Endemol Shine North America and chairman of Endemol Shine Americas, expressed his observation, Los Angeles Times reported.

"To Selena, With Love" book was already published in 2012 and it highlights the love story of Pérez and the late Quintanilla. The television version is more about their influence to the outside world. It has markets already in English and Spanish TV. Pérez commented that his experience losing the love of his life in an unlikely manner could also help others who are grieving.

Just this August, Madame Tussauds Hollywood officially opened to the public Quintanilla's wax figure. The MAC Selena makeup collection was also launched in October and are selling well nationwide. MAC is still restocking the collection for January distribution but perhaps just enough for the recipients on the waiting list, as per Houston Chronicle.
