Distressing Childhood Correlated With Dysfunctioning Blood Regulation

Researchers at Augusta University Medical College of Georgia say that children who often suffer from sexual abuse, raised in an orphanage and are deprived of affiliation and love that children crave, are more likely to be exposed to dangerous health consequences like chronic diseases and also cognitive conditions.

According to a study conducted by the American Heart Association, children who struggle and experience a difficult childhood may be suffering from poor regulation and circulation of blood pressure. This leads to problems later on in life where blood regulatory systems start dysfunctioning.

The researchers carried the study on 373 participants over a period of 23 years. They came to the conclusion that the blood pressure of those individuals who have an upsetting past was more during the daytime by 17 percent and these symptoms qualified the clinical definition of hypertension.

The lead author and associate professor, Shaoyong Su, made a statement that the children will low socioeconomic status, neglected past and an abusive childhood has more blood pressure fluctuations in 24 hours. The fluctuating or ambiguous blood pressure during the day is a direct determinant of cardiovascular arrests and severe organ damage.

The blood pressure was monitored about 15 times in a day before a final decision was made regarding the results and outcomes of the study. According to NCBI, a study by BMC Pediatrics that was published later on some online platforms like the U.S National Library Of Medicine says that this is an area of study that is currently undiscovered.

The time that these problems are diagnosed, they have already got worse. Hence, measures should be taken to address these questions in the early age, so that the severe consequences can be avoided in future. Blood pressure is not just linked to hypertension and cardiac diseases. It also has serious impacts on the brain development and cognitive function. Not just that, they also have a poorer stroke recovery and suffer long-time consequences.
