"Riverdale" premiere date has been announced and fans are now excited to see their favorite "Archie" comics characters come to life. "Riverdale" is a one-hour TV show that will feature the love triangle of Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge. Additionally, The CW will be reinventing the characters with a darker take on the story that includes solving murder mysteries.
Actor KJ Apa is set to portray the role of Archie on The CW's "RIverdale." Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes will be playing the characters of Betty and Veronica, respectively. In a report from Geek, "Archie" Comics CEO and Publisher Jon Goldwater referred to "Riverdale's" premiere as "historic moment for "Archie" comics."
Goldwater teased that viewers will get hooked on "Riverdale" after seeing just the first scene of the show. "Partnering with Roberto, Greg Berlanti, Warner Bros. and The CW has been a wonderful experience and it's been stunning to see the show bring our iconic characters to life, adding to the mythos and legend of Archie and his gang," Goldwater said.
"You will be hooked from the first scene, I promise you," the CEO added. Apart from the exciting plot of "Riverdale," the cast also include two beloved stars Luke Perry and Madchen Amick. They will portray the roles of Fred Andrews and Alice Cooper, respectively.
Meanwhile, in a previous report from MoviePilot, "Riverdale's" dark and twisty take on the famous "Archie" comics will begin with the disappearance of a teenager in town. It will soon be revealed that the teen was murdered and Archie, along with his friends, will be drawn into the mystery. Cole Sprouse who will play as Jughead Jones will also join Archie's adventures.
