‘The Originals’ Season 4 Premiere Date & Spoilers: ‘Vampire Diaries’ Crossover Happening Soon?

The long wait for "The Originals" Season 4 is almost over. The show is set to come back in March next year, and with even better news. The new season will reportedly include a crossover with "The Vampire Diaries."

The showdown between vampires and werewolves is said to be an essential part of "The Vampire Diaries" finale, and a crossover with "The Originals" is rumored to happen on its fourth season.

It has been confirmed that Alaric, portrayed by Matt Davis in "TVD" will also appear in "The Originals." Alaric will be seen in Season 4 Episode 8.

Alaric is said to deliver an heirloom to Elijah, portrayed by actor Daniel Gillies. In "The Vampire Diaries," Alaric runs an armory and with this, he has access to a lot of things that "The Originals" characters may need, Entertainment Weekly reports.

What will heirloom be used for? Does it have a connection to the heirloom that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is looking for? While the two shows' teams are mum about details, fans know that this heirloom is crucial and that the crossover must indeed happen.

Though there's still no concrete answer as to the crossover, one thing's for sure: Alaric survives "The Vampire Diaries." Remember, "The Originals" is set in the future.

Another spoiler is that Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will be traveling with a grown-up Hope (Summer Fontana). They will track the pack werewolves to help them save Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan).

There will also be two new characters in "The Originals" Season 4, according to TV Line. A werewolf named Keelin, portrayed by Christina Moses and a vampire named Alistair.

What do you think is the heirloom is for? Will this artifact trigger the much-anticipated "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" crossover? Also, who else do you want to see crossover from "TVD" to "The Originals?"

"The Originals" Season 4 will return on CW on March 17, 2017.
