With "Narcos" Season 3 shifting from the Medellin cartel to the Cali cartel, another actor in the supporting cast has confirmed he won't be in the new season. The Netflix series is in the middle of filming in Colombia, where lead star Pedro Pascal is hard at work. The actor shares photos taken from the set of "Narcos" Season 3 on his social media.
Speaking with The Corsair Online, André Mattos, who played Jorge Ochoa in the show, confirms that "Narcos" Season 3 is no longer going to include the Medellin cartel. His character is part of the latter group as Jorge Ochoa is one of the cartel's biggest players. He said that he is not going to be in the new season anymore.
"There will be a third season," he told the magazine. "But I won't be on it," he confirmed, indicating that the Medellin cartel's story is definitely finished on the show. But the Brazilian actor said that he had a good time working on the set of "Narcos" in the earlier seasons.
He got involved in "Narcos" because of the producer-director and fellow-Brazilian Jose Padilha. "Padilha is a great friend. I love, really love to work with them. [José] Padilha, Wagner [Moura], and Lula Carvalho," he said.
Meanwhile, the cast and crew of "Narcos" Season 3" have been on location in Colombia for quite some time now. A post shared on Twitter confirms that filming is indeed rolling on schedule and production has caused a slight traffic congestion on the streets of Cali.
On his Instagram, actor Pedro Pascal, who reprises his role as Javier Pena, also shared photos from the set of "Narcos" Season 3. It looks like he is the lone main character from the previous seasons who is also part of the new season. Interestingly, none of the photos he shared indicate that his TV work buddy, Boyd Holbrook, is on the set.
"Narcos" Season 3 is expected to return on Netflix in the middle of 2017, while Season 4 has also been confirmed, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Keep checking back to this site for more news and updates.
