TNT's order for the pilot episode of "Snowpiercer" signaled its existence in the small screens. It is an adaptation of the 2014 film by Josh Friedman of Tomorrow who serves currently as executive producer and writer-showrunner. Harvey Weinstein and Korean director Bong Joon-ho had a conflict that time when Weinstein wanted to shorten it which Bong disagrees.
Weinstein tried to eliminate 20 minutes length of footages from the 126-minute film. Bong blocked it by staging a fight publicly. Perhaps Bong was right back then because, despite the past outcome, the TV series is till in its full-length TV series, according to The Verge.
The "Snowpiercer" film gained excellent reviews that triggered the imagination how human existence can survive inside a never ending train that circles the frozen world? It is like being caged brutally in a car with real people inside.
Originality is evident in the "Snowpiercer" and it has been noted as such for the last decade in the movie industry. ,Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT is confident that the series format provides numerous opportunities to be explored.
TNT has patronized Tomorrow Studios' materials these days since "Snowpiercer" is already their third venture with the production studio headed by CEO Marty Adelstein and president Becky Clements. "Good Behavior," featuring Michelle Dockery, and "Let the Right One In" co-produced by Tomorrow and Turner's Studio T are presently on air regularly.
The show gives an idea to people how horrific climate change can be if "Ice Age" happens to the world. Human race vulnerability is being stressed here. The fact that humanity can be wiped out from the face of the earth is really scary but real. It would be interesting to know how "Snowpiercer" will do in putting human survival to the extreme, as per Variety.
