Ahead of its release, Samsung's Galaxy S8 is already making noise as potentially the fastest smartphone ever to be made, whose features include fast battery charging. It is widely believed the Galaxy 8 will run on the latest and most advanced mobile processor by the American telecommunications company, Qualcomm.
Samsung has been working with Qualcomm to produce its fastest processor to date called Snapdragon 835, the Express reports. A 10-nanometer chip, the ultra-thin Snapdragon 835 processor is expected to become a core part of the Galaxy S8, which is slated for release in March 2017.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips can be found in various Android smartphones today, but the Snapdragon 835 promises to be the most powerful yet. Among its top features that consumers will likely look forward to is Quick Charge 4. It will give the Samsung Galaxy S8 five hours of battery life after charging the device for just five minutes, according to Engadget.
The standard Samsung Galaxy 8 will have a 5.7-inch screen, bigger than the Galaxy S7's 5.1 inches. A larger device called Galaxy S8 Plus will have a screen length of 6.2 inches.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will also have a voice assistant function called Bixby similar to Apple's Siri. What's more, Tech Times says the Samsung Galaxy S8 may also have an optical fingerprint scanner on its home screen and a Force Touch display, but will not have the Home button, unlike current smartphones.
Samsung has yet to confirm details about the Galaxy S8's features. But tech insiders believe Samsung is making sure the Galaxy S8 will be a lot better than its chief rival, Apple's iPhone 8, GameNGuide reports.
Reports also say that Samsung is working hard to ensure the Galaxy S8 will not have the safety issues of the Galaxy Note 7, which Samsung had to recall and shelve after several devices catching fire. The controversy over such cases was largely blamed for the 30-percent drop in Samsung's profits during the third quarter of 2016.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will debut at the February 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain--a tech fair that will showcase the latest and most advanced smartphones. Other brands like Apple and a come-backing Nokia are expected to present their new smartphones as well.
