When guards Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo was added to the Chicago Bulls roster last summer, critics immediately thought about the major problem would be the Bulls' perimeter shooting. Both guards are not known for their outside shooting and many expected the Bulls would greatly struggle this 2016-2017 NBA season after trading former MVP Derrick Rose and defensive specialist center Joakim Noah to the New York Knicks.
But on this young NBA season, the Bulls are telling a different story and proving everybody wrong. According to SB Nation, the team has been posting solid wins with high shooting percentages. The Bulls even started the season with a 9-5 record in the tight eastern conference race. It is now in a good position with regard to playoff seeding.
It seems that Wade has found his shooting touch and has been hitting three-pointers just like free-throws. Wade hit five triples in their last outing against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Chicago's main man Jimmy Butler is also on a roll, recording a season-high of 40 points in a win against the young Los Angeles Lakers team. In his post-game interview, Butler stated that his team needs him to do what he does best: scoring at will and being aggressive putting the ball in the basket, as per Bleacher Report.
Butler's dominating performances play a huge role and the biggest key to the new look of Chicago Bulls early this season. Butler believes that he is the best player whenever he steps on the court and certainly proves he is right with Wade helping him build this kind of confidence.
The Bulls currently ranks eighth in offensive efficiency and has been careful not to force their outside shots. For the team, the key is defying odds and displaying remarkable chemistry to boost their rank in the standings.
