'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' Star Jennifer Lawrence Visits Kids at Montreal Hospital

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" lead star, Jennifer Lawrence, took a break from filming the anticipated flick, "X-Men: Apocalypse," and spent her weekend on a heartwarming and touching event. Last Friday, the philanthropist actress took the time to visit Montreal's Shriners Hospital for Children, which caters to young patients with chronic conditions, in particular, those with neuromusculoskeletal disorders, according to CBC News.

The report said that the Hollywood actress joyfully chatted with the children, signed a few casts and even took the time to pose for photos. Shriners Hospitals for Children uploaded photos on their Facebook page, which they captioned with "A very special visitor stopped by our Canada hospital today. Jennifer Lawrence is in Montreal filming a new movie and she made time to visit some of our ‪#‎ShrinersCanada kids and staff. Everyone had a great time!"

In the following photos, one will see J-Law signing a little boy's cast while, in another, the actress crouched down beside a young boy using a walker.

The hospital was overwhelmed with the surprise visit from the "X-Men: Apocalypse" star that they also tweeted about it, "You never know who might visit @ShrinersCanada ! Today, Jennifer Lawrence took time to see children at the hospital!"

It was such a kind gesture for the famous actress to reach out and pay a visit to the sickly children. However, such act was not new to Lawrence at all. On Christmas Eve last year, the actress had a surprise visit to Kosair Children's Hospital in her hometown in Louisville, Ky., according to Huffington Post. Moreover, the "American Hustle" star had visited the same hospital two years ago. She made her round visits on December 22, 2013, according to The Wrap.

Her humanitarian acts do not end with just visiting the children at the hospice. She has her own foundation, The Lawrence Foundation, which is a component fund of The Community Foundation of Louisville, Inc. The Lawrence Foundation supports a variety of organizations such as DoSomething.org, Feeding America, Screen Actors Guild Foundation, The Thirst Project and World Food Programme, as its website suggests.

In a separate report from Huffington Post, other celebrities like Christ Pratt, Chris Evans as well as the cast of the upcoming "Ghostbusters" reboot, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones, also visited different hospitals, "restoring our faith in Hollywood and humanity," as the report indicated.
