News about Chandler Riggs ditching "The Walking Dead" for college came up when the actor's father posted that his son has "completed" seven years of the series. On Instagram, the William Riggs posted a photo of himself and his son with the hashtag #freedom.
According to Us Weekly, the older Riggs was alluding to his son fulfilling his contract for "The Walking Dead." But the news site also reported that the actor has been accepted to Auburn University for college.
Digital Spy points out that Chandler Riggs' chosen university is located in Alabama and it's only a few hours off "The Walking Dead" location in Atlanta. The actor might still be able to balance his time between school and his work commitments.
But should the inevitable happen and Chandler Riggs has to give up "The Walking Dead," fans are wondering how the show will handle his departure. Killing off his character would be an easy answer given that no one is safe in the show.
