The Los Angeles Clippers are off to a franchise-best and is the current number one team in the 2016-2017 NBA season with a 13-2 record. A new milestone was achieved by all-stars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, who continue to shine together this early season after going through another disappointing early playoff exit last April. Definitely, the Clips are out to prove something this year.
After five consecutive playoff appearances together and not being able to reach any western conference finals, the Clips are tired of losing and this might be their last chance since the contracts of Paul and Griffin will expire by the end of the season. Both players have shared the same experiences on and off the court, according to USA Today.
Paul, Clippers' all-star point guard, disclosed that both of them have matured together and their communication has improved a lot through the years. Paul stated that they are having one of the best times they have had as teammates while competing at the highest level and they only have one goal in mind: to win the elusive NBA title.
The Clips have won successive games this young NBA season and have changed a lot in terms of the team's defensive and offensive overall rating. Paul, a.k.a/ "CP3," recently addressed that the team has a different perspective in terms of sense of urgency. The Clippers changed their mindset early this season by starting strong and pushing for a higher seeding in the playoffs to gain home court advantage which will greatly help them get over the hump and a higher chance for a title shot, via Washington Post.
Griffin and Paul share the same fate on and off the court. Both stars were injured in last season's playoff match against the Portland Trailblazers, resulting in another early post-season exit. Their injuries took a big hit for the team's playoff breakthrough and frustrations elevated to the highest degree.
This season is totally a different story for the Los Angeles Clippers' competitiveness and intensity. This might be the year for the Clippers to do something special with their current all-star cast, or the management could be forced to break-up the core of Paul, Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
