"Vikings Season 4" Part 2 will be prelude to the conquests of Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) in Spain, Italy and Africa. While the Ivar The Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen) is seen as the more prominent heir of Ragnar Lothbrok, the firstborn of the Kattegat ruler with shield maiden Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) will resonate just as strongly in history.
As Salon points out, "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 is a ceremony of torch passing from Ragnar Lothbrok to his heirs. As the media outlet points out, Ivar The Boneless and Bjorn Ironside may be the more popular historical figures but brothers Hvitserk (Marco Islo), Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) and Sigurd (David Lindström) will be no lightweights.
Interestingly, Ragnar Lothbrok will not only bequeath his rule, his power and his fame to his sons, but the rivalry he lived with brother Rollo (Clive Standen) will also be passed onto the new generation. In an earlier report by IGN, Sigurd and Ivar The Boneless are expected to clash more apparently beginning "Vikings Season 4" Part 2.
However, conflict will not be limited between Sigurd and Ivar The Boneless. Parent Herald cites revelation by Alexander Ludwig that Bjorn Ironside and his brothers will display competition and rivalry as "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 picks up the tale of the Lothbrok clan.
New cast members are also coming in when "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 airs. Just as well since the History series is anticipated to bring about numerous deaths among key characters. The death of Ragnar Lothbrok is among the most dreaded deaths in the new "Vikings" episodes.
However, tease by History on the fate of Ragnar Lothbrok seems to be a symbolic representation of how the Kattegat ruler courts death (circling the tree). In the History tease, Ragnar Lothbrok eventually hangs himself, which seems a warning that whatever the Viking has up his sleeve in Season 4 Part 2 will be the death of him.
History brings the "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 premiere on Nov 30. Are you prepared to reunite with Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons when "Vikings" returns?
