"Kingsman 2," aptly titled "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," release date has been pushed back from its original summer 2017 release date to October 6, 2017 by Fox. This is quite an opposite decision as what happened with "Alien: Covenant," which was pushed up from August to May 2017. Fox is producing, yet in secret, 2 more Marvel movies. Speculations include the X-Men spinoff "Gambit" or "Deadpool 3 X-Force."
Why did Fox push back "Kingsman 2" release date to October 2017?
Despite the solid success of the "Kingsman" movie in February 2015, grossing $414.3 million worldwide, the much-anticipated sequel "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" was pushed back a few months. Originally, October 6, 2017, was occupied by the yet untitled movie collaboration from Fox and Marvel, which may have been "Gambit," as speculated by fans.
Matthew Vaughn returns to direct, as the all-star cast returns with Taron Egerton and Colin Firth for "Kingsman 2," "Kingsman: The Golden Circle." With newcomers Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum, and Elton John, fans should expect more action-packed and adventure-filled movie with a hint of drama and comedy, per Independent report.
October 2017 will have a lot in store for movie-goers since not only will "Kingsman 2" be released, but also Harrison Ford returns to "Blade Runner: 2049" with Ryan Gosling, according to SlashFilm. Although the tone for the two films will be different, "Kingsman 2" as an action-comedy while "Blade Runner: 2049" serious tone, difficult choices have to be made by movie-goers.
Is Fox going to release 2 Marvel movies like "Gambit" or "Deadpool 3 X-Force"?
As mentioned earlier, many believed that Fox might release "Gambit" on October 6, 2017. However, Collider reported that the X-Men spinoff starring Channing Tatum as "Gambit" movie production lost two directors and the movie's script is being re-written, thus halting production, which was supposedly to begin in the fall of 2015. So making the October 2017 release date is highly improbable for the "Gambit" movie.
Marvel fans shouldn't fret as Fox has confirmed a release on November 2, 2018, and February 14, 2019. But which movies to come out during the specified dates is yet to be reported. "Deadpool 2" may have landed on one of these dates, as reports have confirmed that the movie has landed a director since Tim Miller walked out on them.
Since production for "Deadpool 2" has been given priority, the movie could possibly go back to the March 2, 2018, release date. This will pave the way for a 2019 "Deadpool 3 X-Force" release date, since Fox has been reportedly eyeing a director for the film.
